    Sailaway Narrowboats

Are you thinking of or have just recently purchased a narrowboat sailaway shell?

We have a Hyster boat lift to take your boat from the road haulage trailer and position your new sailaway narrowboat shell on our extensive hard standing. Access to your boat is 7 days a week with an ANPR camera on the driveway to keep your new love, safe and sound.

On our hard standing you have an electric and water point at each of our land berths so you can power up or power down your tools whenever you like. A massive plus to our hard standing at Aqueduct Marina is that you can park your car or van right next to your boat, so no lugging tools or materials down a jetty to carry on your fit-out.

What do you do if you get stuck on something or something doesn’t make sense or you just shout in your own mind, help!?

Don’t worry, our team of Engineers are on hand to offer you guidance or install the stuff you don’t want to. Our Engineers have many years of experience and one of our strengths is our team are really friendly as well as experts within the narrowboat world.

What do you do if you need any materials or products for your soon to be floating masterpiece?

Our chandlery has everything you need. Our workshop has many different components for narrowboats and our chandlery team will definitely know what you will need! We have thousands of narrowboat parts in stock or we source these for you within 24-48 hours from one of our approved partners. We are also extremely competitively priced.

What do you do if you need to paint the cabin?

We have a painting workshop you can hire on a weekly basis. The key feature of our workshop at Aqueduct Marina is that it is temperature and moisture controlled, allowing you to apply the paint in the right conditions, to give it that Picasso touch!

What do you do once you’ve finished fitting out your Palace afloat?

We won’t launch it like a lifeboat but slip it softly into the water, just like how a swan glides in. We have one of the very best locations to explore the canal network and would love to welcome you to moor your narrowboat with us. Our moorings team, fronted by our hospitality host Molly-Jo, will be able to help you choose a berth and introduce you to the ‘Exclusive Moorers Pack’ worth over £1,100. We don’t hold you to any long-term mooring contracts and agreements but simply offer you a monthly price giving you freedom to branch out and leave us someday, but we are confident you won’t want to!

So in essence, if you are thinking of or have purchased a Sailaway narrowboat shell then come and take a tour of our marina located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

    Team Aqueduct Marina.

    Narrowboat Chloe – Re-Paint

Narrowboat Chloe was the latest boat to come out of our painting workshop after having a full re-paint completed here at Aqueduct Marina.

This was the first full re-paint completed by our new head painter, Paul and it is easy to say that he has done a fantastic job. A huge well done to Paul, we can’t wait to see the next one.

You can see Chloe’s transformation on the below images.

Narowboat Nell is currently in our workshop and being painted by Paul as we speak, we will of course share the transformation with you once it is completed.

For all your narrowboat maintenance enquiries, from full re-paints to blackings and anything in between, do not hesitate to get in touch with us! Call 01270 525040 or email info@aqueductmarina.co.uk to get a quote.

    Exhibiting at BoatLife 2023

Visit Aqueduct’s stand and save money at BoatLife Live

To help you enjoy your narrowboat in 2023, the Aqueduct Marina team in Cheshire are offering some real savings to visitors to the NEC in February.

Any narrowboat owner visiting the Aqueduct stand at BoatLife Live exhibition between the 16th and 19th of February, and holding a full-price admission ticket, should visit the Aqueduct stand in Hall 19 on Stand E31 to get their ticket stamped. This can then be exchanged for either a free week’s mooring, worth £154, or one free use of the slipway, worth £160; terms and conditions apply.

Both options will enable boat owners to use Aqueduct Marina as a mid-cruise safe harbour in 2023, as it is within easy reach of the Llangollen, Macclesfield and Caldon canals. The Church Minshull marina’s significant savings are something everyone is looking for during these difficult times.

So why not plan your boating year and cruising routes to make the most of the marina’s giveaways and join the many boat owners who already moor at Aqueduct and find the marina an ideal place to moor or store their boat, whatever the season.

Getting back to work Aqueduct retain five gold anchor status
We are extremely delighted to announce that Aqueduct Marina has retained it’s FIVE GOLD ANCHOR status as awarded by TYHA.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff who have all contributed towards us achieving and now retaining this high standard.

This accolade is achieved through a site assessment of specific items across six evaluation categories which are:

    Ambience
    Planning, Policies and Procedures
    Customer Service
    Environmental
    On Water facilities and infrastructure
    On Shore facilities and infrastructure

In addition to this a berth holder survey is also conducted.

Once the assessor has completed their evaluation and report an accreditation recommendation is put to either TYHA or MIA Gold Anchor Standards Panels for approval. Mystery shopper checks are used during the three-year validity period to ensure the accreditation remains valid as well as providing valuable additional information to the marina.

    RAM on the loose

Meaning of Ram – a male sheep, battering ram or to roughly force (something) into place… well its fair to say that RAM, the boat, which was launched at Aqueduct Marina today, is anything but sheepish, battered nor rough!

RAM is actually a brand new Canal and River Trust work-boat, and represents months of hard work by our extremely talented operations team. All members of the team have been involved in the project from start to finish and we are all very proud of the final result. The Shell was built onsite by our fabrication team then handed over to the painting department where it has been grit blasted to SA 2.5 standards and coated with a 2 Pac epoxy coating. After this RAM was completely rebuilt including a brand new Beta engine,  internal fit out by Knights Narrow boats and electrical loom supplied by Loom Tech. The final painting touches where then applied including new C&RT logos and a hard wearing anti slip coating on the decks and walkways.

This craft has been very carefully designed and built to ensure that it is safe to use, comfortable for its users, extremely practical and will last the test of time as it helps with the vital maintenance work on our fantastic inland waterways.

Ambassador Business of the Year Award

The Ambassador of the Year Award sponsored by Cheshire East Council was open to any business trading within the Crewe and Nantwich area of South Cheshire. Judges from Cheshire East Council awarded Aqueduct Marina with this award as they displayed expertise and leadership in the field on a regional and national area.

Robert Parton MD of the five gold anchor marina commented on the award: “It is a huge privilege to accept this award on behalf of the whole Aqueduct Marina team.”

“This award rounds of our successful tenth anniversary year,  as it is especially rewarding to be acknowledged alongside many other brilliant South Cheshire companies. Our thanks go to the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, Cheshire East Council and master of ceremonies Cheshire Cat Radio.”

This award recognition for the Shropshire Union Canal based family marina joins the fourth consecutive Inland Marina of the Year award that was won at the Southampton International Boat Show in September.
